Safe and supervised 'in water' experiences of our unique marine life and habitat.

Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries (EMS) is an incorporated, not-for-profit community organisation.

EMS snorkel events are Proudly supported by the Department for Human Services, Suzanne Elliot Charitable Trust, Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges NRM Board and DEW Marine Parks.

The program is based on the highly successful New Zealand program ‘Experiencing Marine Reserves’.

Our EMS snorkel leaders are qualified dive and snorkelling instructors and offer guidance, direction and coordination of our snorkel experiences.

EMS provides mask (goggles), snorkel, fins (flippers) and wetsuits (these are limited so please bring your own if you can).

The EMS Community Snorkel Program is designed for adults and children (5 years and above), parents & grandparents that are interested in experiencing and learning about SA’s unique marine life and habitats. Participants under 15 years old need to be accompanied in water by a adult carer/parent.

Snorkel tours typically last for around 30-45 minutes. Registration, gear allocation and snorkel safety briefing can take up to 30 minutes before snorkel tour.
